A buddy of mine has spintechs on his LT1 camaro. I like the way they sound. They are really loud at WOT! He went to a hooker longtube, and X pipe and true duals with dumps and it dropped him from a 13.7 to a 13.02 (I drove the car on both passes)
I want to change my setup to true duals and 16" borla XR1's
Everything is as good as flowmaster. Flowmaster is one of the most restrictive "performance" mufflers on the market.
I haven't heard them in person, but I've heard a couple thirdgen and fourth-gen f-body sound clips that blew me away. They have a very crisp, deep sound.
You can’t compare a F-Body muffler to a Corvette due to the fact that the muffler exits to a 4” tip and the F-body has a long tailpipe after the muffler. Regardless the Spintech is the worst sounding muffler I have ever heard on a Corvette bar none. They are also very restrictive. Anyone who has ever heard one in person on a Corvette will know what I am talking about.
It's not that big of a difference. I've heard enough Vettes and f-bodies to know that they still have a similar sound with similar exhausts. I'd also be interrested in knowing what makes the spintech so restrictive. From the looks of it, there doesn't seem to be as much of a maze for the air to travel through as in a flowmaster.

You're right. I have no idea on what I am talking about  The camaro had dumps right before the rear axle. PS, I know the difference between an F body and a Y body....thanks for the insight though.....have a nice day :seeya
I imagine the spintechs will resonate quite a bit. My Tpis catback, which utilizes flowmasters, is extremely loud and quite annoying on the highway. I intend on selling the catback and running 3" true duals into Borla XR1's. I think power will pick up slightly and it will have more of a unique sound.....too many flowmasters out there!
