Does anyone make a manual valve body with trans brake for the 700R4 transmission? I have seen manual ones but not with a trans brake. Will these tranny's hold up well for drag racing or would it be better to use a TH-350?
I would stay away from the trans brake for the 700R4. It is very hard on parts and short lived. If you "insist" on the trans brake, go with the TH400, as it is the strongest, or the TH350. Personally, I do not like transbrakes, as I see no advantage except for consistency.
Thanks Probuilt for the input, I was wondering how the OD tranny would hold up to a brake. We race quite a bit so consistancy is important and I am looking at a C4 for my daughter and she would like a brake, but she can learn to foot brake also. I've seen a lot of footbrakers hit some pretty good lights, will the 700R4 hold up pretty well if your just foot braking it and I assuming race prepped?
Cratzy, check out TCI's site http://www.tciauto.com they make a manual valve body but it is a reverse shift pattern. If it works like others I've had in Mopar's it will give you full manual control of the shifting but not automatic functions i.e. you can rev it until it pops.... :D

Sounds great :D
So the tranny won't shift down then? Kickdowns? I would like to be able ta stay in gear as long as I want to, is that possible?
Not that I have seen with a full manual valve body, I can hold my race cars in gear as long as I want then shift. It will also improve the shift quailty it will be a lot quicker (harser) I don't know how these would work on a street car. Also if your going 100 mph and you pull it into first that right were it will go no questions asked!
