(Solved) Upper steering shaft came out?
Not really sure what to do here? It takes little effort to pull out. Obviously needs to stay in place while driving. Also to compress the lock plate.
Having some trouble getting the pics to show up

For some context it was abandoned and now I’m attempting to revive it. Revive, not restore.
I believe that it is foam from the drivers seat that some rats tore out.
Also I got the problem fixed anyway. I just bought a bolt to lock it in place and then when everything was put back together it quit coming out.

I still want to see what the engine looks like. You haven't posted up a picture of it.

In all seriousness, I for one am glad that you've chosen to revive her. It's far too easy to cut her up and sell the pieces. You'll find this group as a whole to be very helpful and generous. I know I have.

Yeah, I saw it. Honestly, it could be a lot worse.
