I'm interested in buying the Hooker Headers ( 2151's ) because of the price and emissions is not a problem.
What does it take to install them without Catalytic Convertors so you can drive to the strip? It's an automatic transmission with the B&B 3" exhaust system.
If the headers themselves are welded to the B&B 3" exhaust system will the entire system drop down to the ground without any problems?
You don't want to weld the whole thing together. You won't be able to get it out then. You need to be able to unbolt each header from the pipe. Just have the shop put the proper flange and flare onto each pipe where it bolts onto the header collectors on each side.
You'll need to have some short extensions to bridge the distance from the headers to the B&B exhaust, I would personally suggest the "ball & socket" type collectors & extensions, and you can purchase them thru Dr Gas exhaust components, possibly thru Stainless Works also. Don't weld it solid, you'll never get it out without cutting the weld....
Thanks for the quick replies... can anyone post pictures of what is needed ? because my dads going to be installing them for me, and wants as much information that is available. Do the headers reach as far as where the cats end on BOTH sides? I noticed the hookers have Flanges on both sides, but on the passanger side of a stock or aftermarket exhaust system, does not have one on that side.
THanks fella's
