LT4 Head Question

LT4 Head Question
I have a stock 1996 LT1 w/ an Automatic transmission. I was wondering how much of a horsepower gain you would get from bolting on the LT4 heads and Intake Manifold over the stock LT1 Heads and Intake Manifold.
Please no remarks about Porting the existing LT1 heads that I have ;)

Not sure, but I bet you'd see better gains with the hot cam kit..
It's much cheaper too.
At least i didn't tell you to port your existing heads...

The typical difference between an LT1 and LT4 on the dyno is about 30-40 rwhp. Given that , swapping LT4 heads and intake would net most of that but dont forget the LT4 has a bit more aggressive cam as well. If someone were interested in this , over in the C4 parts for sale section, GM Parts Direct is selling the LT4 heads/intake and LT4 hot cam as part of a package that is around $2100 I think. This with a good tune should yeild ~320-30+ rwhp on a LT1. Hope that helps...... :seeya

Thanks guys. Yea I noticed the LT4 cam was 'slightly' more aggressive, but thats not going to give it that boost in rwhp the lt4 has over the lt1. I read in the Scroggin something catalog, that just bolting on these heads yields a 30hp increase, and if thats the case... i may purchase that top end kit.
