On my C5 I only jacked up one side of the car to reach under and remove the drain plug and filter, no need to pick up both sides. I believe I let it down flat to let it drain, and then again just jacked up one side to replace the plug and the filter. On my '90 ZR-1, since the filter is on top of the engine, I use a MIghtyVac to suck out the oil via the dip stick hole (and yes I do get all 9 qts. out), and it's quick and clean, not even a drop of oil on the floor or your fingers, and easy to dispose of without any risk of spilling any from fussing with the oil pan under the car.
Are there any other items you need to operate that lift
You have to buy 3 or 4 quarts of ATF or hydraulic fluid. I am not at home and I don't remember the specs but it is easy to find and the type is in the owners manual. You need a 110 outlet. Dan
I went with the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh ramps. They aren't bad and inexpensive.
I had to construct a "pre-ramp" to get Her high enough to roll on, they turned out being an half an inch or so too short during transition, rubbed the skirt. Have to make the transition smoother. Used some lug bolts to lock into the ramps, will take pics later. The ramps do have rubber feet, still may slip on epoxy floors.
Plenty of room. I'd probably go downhill to the ramps next time!
Yes, I see the chock behind the rear wheel, but that still looks scary as ****. If the car rolls off the ramps with you under it, you will suffocate. You'll have plenty of time before you loose consciousness to think about whether it is the wife, kid or a neighbor that will find you dead, how the hell did this happen, and that that IHBD ******* on CF warned me about this.
I have a set of old metal ramps that I haven't used for years. They have a 'pocket' that the wheel sits it, so the car can't roll off the flat spot like your ramps have. Those HF ramps with the flat landing area on a sloped driveway are a tragedy waiting to happen. Come up with a safer method to get under the car. Or position your pick-up just a couple of inches behind the Corvette as a "safety" against rolling.

Sorry for you that you can't control the language that you deemed necessary.
That car isn't rolling backwards with it in gear and chock in back of tires
I agree. If you can afford them, QuickJacks are the way to go. Plenty of clearance for most underside jobs, safe.
Me too! I've replaced u joints and have a new Y pipe in hand to replace the old rusty one that has some holes in it. And yes I put them under the car with the locking bars inside instead of outside. Lesson learned.
What I like about my Quickjack 6000Tl is it goes a few inches higher than the older standard 5000 model. Also, you can take all 4 wheels off at once. I will say that at 74 I have lost some strength and reinstalling the wheels while the car is higher is harder. Next time I will lower it way down before reinstalling the wheels. Dan

I solved the wheel reinstall problem with a motorcycle jack. Put the tire/wheel on the jack, have a seat on my shop stool, fine tune the height with a cordless impact wrench while shining a flashlight through one of the bolt holes, line it up with a bolt and slide it on. Easy peasy.
Look a little old but I can say these people were into some oil changen for sure ,Don't need no stinking ramps. Talking about old school .. I would like to know what cars trucks were on that over the years .
First thing one learns about really any corvette is,( that thing is low) yep How do I get is up in the air . I have sold lots of Corvette to newbie's and they all call and ask: how do I get it off the ground, for my liability I say that's on you figure it out ..
