1990 coupe replacing speakers
I've got a 90 model coupe that has an aftermarket stereo put in by the previous owner. The brand is SJoyBring. It sounds pretty good, but I noticed when you crank it up a bit, the speakers start to distort, so I pulled a cover off one of the back ones, and discovered that it still has the Bose Gold speaker in it. He apparently ran new wire to it; I haven't pulled the box itself out to look and see how, but what I'm wondering is what kind of speakers would be best to replace all four with? I'm not looking for great big sound, just something decent that I might be able to use that fits the front and rear boxes without having to cut up a lot of stuff, since it seems to have newish wiring to them.

The previous owner likely used an adapter if the original 36 year old Bose speakers are used with an aftermarket head. I would install some quality 6.5" speakers and run separate wires to them. They will bolt right into the Bose boxes. That's what I did with mine and it sounds really good.
