Default Stock exhaust size

Is there a differene between the tubing size in an LT-1 vs. and LT-4. I am looking for an exhaust for my LT-4 and want to make sure there is not problem if I were to buy mufflers from and LT-1 owner or from a company offering kits for LT-1.

Thanks

LT1 and LT4 exhaust systems are the same size, the only difference between them is that the LT4 system has a cross over pipe by the resonator (as do some late 95 6 speed LT1 systems).

Thanks!
I imagine your car is quite a bit quicker with the mods you have made.

If it isn't, it will be after I install my long tube headers and HOT cam :blueangel:

Not 100% sure of this, but also the LT4 has an Oxygen sensor on the exhaust which I believe is not used on the LT1. It threads into a "boss" on the exhaust pipe which is not provided on LT1 systems.

All the '96's have the post cat O2 sensors. It's an OBDII requirement. The stock exhaust size is pretty beefy at 2.75".

Was it only the LT4s that had the 2 3/4 exhaust or all 1996s? :)

All LT1/4 had the 2.75" OD, 2.5" ID exhaust system that necks down to almost 2.0" ID at a couple of points.
