Default getting info about superchargers

How reliable are they? I mean, do you have to change the oil quite often or replace belts or anything? How hard are they on the engine itself? How long do they last?

Ok, seems no one wants to answer, so I'll give a different question.

What all would be needed to get a SC setup working? SC, fuel pump, intercooler, forged crankshaft, forged pistol heads, forged piston rods, roller rockers, etc? Basically, everything I need. I'm looking for an idea on the $$$ needed to get the setup.

Well reliability is relative to how well your supercharged engine is tuned and maintained. I know of 10+year old cars that have 100K+ miles and are blown for years, and I know of almost new cars that just got a blower and are already having problems.

I am in middle of installing a custom ASSC kit on my '85 vette, but I got the Vortech-only Timing Adjuster (manual or via PSI), Fuel Management Unit (Adds 6psi FuelPressure for every PSI boost), Blow off Valve (might not be able to use it though due to my MAF issue).
I have a new, but stock Fuel Pump (135Lph, should be good for under 400RWHP.), Just replaced my stock 24lbs injectors with newer multec ones (24lbs), I already have stock forged internals.

The best and easiest way to get a supercharger is just to get a kit from CarrollSupercharing.com. I think they make the best quality stuff out there.
Might cost 5K+ but it'll be right.

Ohh ps I decided against an intercooler. Too much work trying to plumb that junk in. I'm only goign to run 6PSI +- anyways..

I was looking into Carroll but was told to stay away from them. That they're too pricey and don't give the performance like something else would.

Hmm I always only heard good things about Carroll.
They ARE overpriced, but make top quality stuff.
