Is there a way to reverse the 96 corvette traction control option? It would be nice if we could activate the traction control when we need it and not have to get in the car every day and deactivate it. Any ideas?
Michael
PS I know they make a contol module that works of the f bodys. Here is the description.
TCS Logic Module
If you’re one of the owners of a fourth-generation Camaro or Firebird equipped with traction control, you know how much of a pain it can be to forget it’s activated when you’re at the track, getting ready to make a pass or execute a burnout. You’re immediately met with a stall on the starting line or in the burn-out box when you dump the clutch in a 6-speed car, or bogging from an automatic equipped car. GM has designed your car's traction control system to activate as soon as you start the car, but sometimes it's just not necessary. This new device actually reverses the activation of your car's TCS function, by not having the system activate until you turn the manual switch on located on your car’s dash or console. No more embarrassing or annoying moments at the track. Installation couldn’t be easier, since this device is a simple plug-in.

Re: Reversing the Traction control button? (fullboogie)
What voltage runs through the switch? Is it 12 volts or a lower voltage? Either way, it can't possibly be difficult to whip up an inverter with either a relay or a little gate logic depending on signal voltage.

As another member on this board mentioned one time, I have been toying with the idea of making a "One Shot" timer circuit from a 555 timer chip that you can buy at Radio Shack. The way it would work is to set the RC (Resistance - Capacitance) time constant for the 555 timer to something like 20 milliseconds after power is applied from the ignition switch. After that 20 milliseconds, the device would simulate you pressing the ASR button. Thus, 20 milliseconds after the vehicle ignition is turned on the ASR would be turned off. And, if you want it on, you could just hit the button after 20 milliseconds. Anyone with basic electronics capability could build this for you from a 555 timer.

I asked the same question last year. Someone told me to just unplug it at the asr box in the engine compartment. Thats all i did. If you get tired of looking at the ASR light , cover it with blk elec tape. Sounds cheasy but i don;t evan notice the tape. Would still be nice to have the switching device.

Tom, PLEASE built it! I'd buy one - hell, I'd buy two! You'd also sell about 5,000 to fellow CF members. Please, please, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right now I'm doing C++ and .NET programming for a full-time job, and some .NET programming for a part-time job. Plus, I have to learn Java in a short time or I would.
Trust me, Radio Shack even has some cheap books with the example circuits for 555 timers -- I think they are written by Forrest Mims. Surely, you know someone with some basic electronic experience. Tell them to look at the "One Shot" example circuits for the 555 timer chip. All they have to do is put a relay or a switching transistor across the ASR button wires (observing polarity with the transistor) and drive that relay or transistor from the 555 circuit. The 555 makes a timing circuit real simple.

I was the other member who mentioned it but I'm sorry I'm not a supporting vendor so I couldn't sell it here. 5000 huh and what would someone be willing to pay for this?
