I was about to order a set of MAF sensor housing ends from Jeg's/Ecklers for between $77 and $99. Has anyone just bought these instead of replacing the MAF sensor for $300+? I have heard claims of 5-7 hp from just replacing the MAF housing which would be a nice gain for less than $100. Then eventually, I could replace the MAF sensor itself.

Any experiences would be great.

Thanks!

I've never heard any real gains by replacing the MAF sensor, but I have heard some good thinga about the housing. There is a company out here that makes the nicest set of MAF housings I have seen, and they flow quite a bit more than stock. Give Trevor at Exotic Muscle a call (480 567 4222) and tell him that Jay told you to ask him about the MAF housings the guy next door makes...I forget the name of the business but they are located right next door to EM and Trevor knows them pretty well. Also, ask his opinion on things like the Granatelli MAF, or any aftermarket MAF sensor if you want, he's had experience with them and will give you the low-down on them. Later!

Replaced my stock Mass air housing wiht fiber glass one, and gutted it, added airfoil on sensor. My undersatnding is that the lower heat conductiivy of the fiberlass vs aluminium is the key to any gains in HP. Must admit, if there was a gain I did not feel it, but I made the mod shortly after replacing Throtle body wiht LPE prodcut which gained 12rwhp.
