Default Wheel sizes?

Thinking of what size rims to get. I'm thinking of 18" C5 style all the way around w/the appropriate adapter kit. But My question is could I go 10.5" wide all around or should I do like most rigs I see and do 10.5" wide rears and 9.5" fronts. I know it is probably mostly personal preference but I guess I was curious if anyone knew if an 18"x10.5" front rim would fit or allow you to turn the wheel fully or not?

i know the 17x11 GS wheels fit in front no problem, so i'm sure you would have no trouble going with 10.5s in front. there is a company that makes aftermarket y2k wheels in 10.5" widths and z06 wheels in 9.5", so you could either get the stock size zo6 10.5" rim and the aftermarket 9.5" size or the stock size y2k, 9.5" and the aftermarket 10.5" size for the rear. i ,persoanlly think the y2ks look better on a C4 than do the z06s, but that's just me :D

Thanks! I'm leaning toward the Y2K too. I think the cleaner look is cool.

I've also been looking into this.

Custom Wheel Markets is the only place I've found that has a custom y2k wheel that supposedly fits older C4s. They'res also a guy on ebay selling custom offset Y2ks. From my calcs though.. it'll still stick in 1/2" more than the stock wheel. (as opposed to 3/4" more like the 88+ wheels would). Not sure if CWM's wheels are an exact fit though.

The factory Z06 rear wheels are 18x10.5.. and could be mounted without spacers I think. If i recall.. they'd sit in only 1/4" more than your stock wheels.

I think AFS wheels offers custom offset 17" & 18" Z06 wheels for 84-87 C4s.

I'll have to double check when I get home on these offsets for ya and whether or not adapters are needed. IMO, if 1/2" further in bugs you.. it may be better to get wheel spacers instead.

I just hate to pay $200 for adapters...

Here's how many of the available wheels fit on an 84-87 C4.

Factory ZR1 Rears 17-11x36 - Stick out 1"
AFS ZR1 Replicas 17-9.5x38 - Perfect Fit
Factory Z06 Rears 18-10.5x56 - Set in 1/4"
CWM Y2Ks 18-9.5x50 - Sit in 1/4"
CWM Y2Ks 17-9.5x53 - Sit in 1/2"
Factory 88-96 17-9.5x56 - Sit in 3/4"

The wheel adapters are 3/4"

I've heard that the 11" ZR1 monsters with 315s will fit all the way around with minimal rubbing up front under compression. If your car is lowered, you could have problems though. As for the 10.5 Z06 rears... they stick into your fenders almost 1/4" more, so they would be even harder to fit than 11" Zr1s. Don't let the smaller wheel width fool you, it's the larger offset that causes them to stick in so far.

One option is to use the wheel adapters up front only, and use a standard set of 17+18" ZO6 wheels.

Hope this helps! :flag
