I realize that this topic has been discussed ALOT (I am sure most of the regulars in here are getting tired of seeing it) But I am trying to do as much research as possible before laying out the cash for a cluch/flywheel set-up. I searched all the archived posts on this board about the subject and decided to contact Fidanza to see what they had to say about the problem of the incorrect FW thickness of the #198581 for the L98. I received a reply via e-mail from SPEC Inc. (David N. of SPEC stated that Tom from Fidanza had forwarded my inquiry to him so he could answer my questions) SPEC says that the Fidanza 198581 FW has never fit the L98and that the 198501 is the correct Fidanza FW, BUT their balance offset is not quite perfect. He says that SPEC has an aluminum FW #SC05A for my car. (claims to have perfect fitment and perfect balance). He goes on to say that they recommend a "sprung-hub" disc. Which I am considering the stage II. I am going to be running 100-125hp nitrous on an otherwise basically stock motor. Has anyone heard of these SPEC flywheels? The way it was written in the e-mail, I believe they are NOT a fidanza FW. I have never heard soooo much confusion over a mod as I have with changing my clutch/flywheel. I've heard a ton of good AND a ton of bad. It's making me :crazy: :banghead: :mad . I appreciate any input (and apolagize to all who have dealt with this topic before) :confused:
