any pointers for this one man operation with a floor jack, this trans has an unusual balance point, so before I get under there to wrestle this with one arm on the jack and one on the trans maybe some of you can share your experience.
Get a peice of plywood about 1'x1' and put it on the jack. Rest the tranny on it and put some wood under the 4-speed part so that it tilts the tranny level. The overdrive oilpan otherwise tips the nose downward. Did you remove the clutch or are you installing it exactly as it came out? I needed a 2nd person one time to press the clutch in for me to get the input shaft into the pilot bearing.
same cluth though I did remove but realligned it with a pilot shaft,, I'll try your suggestion, the trans is a slippry devil with no traction for the jack plate. I also made a couple of pilot bolts, cut the heads off for a little extra guidance, thanks, frank
got in in, not that bad but alone it's a hassel, especially with out a trans jack. it's a bancing act when your alone and using a floor jack ..... thanks frank
