Parents picked up an LT4 Collectors Edition coupe. Nice car, but that PKE thing is ANNOYING!
Walk out to another car, it goes crazy.
I know you can turn it off, but when we do we can only unlock the doors with the keyfob. Is there a way to have it lock and unlock with the keyfob but not be in the auto mode?
Unless my book is wrong. When PKE is in the manual mode the key fob will only unlock the passenger door as well as pop the hatch. When the system is in auto mode it can be programmed to unlock the drivers door only (default) or both doors when the key fob comes into range. I WISH you could program it to work as a typical keyless entry.....but I'm pretty sure you can't.
I believe that you have a couple options when programming the fob, and yes, one of those options is to NOT unlock the passenger door automaticly.
That is correct, but it's not what the poster was asking :) He was asking about manual mode (i.e. PKE turned off).
To reiterate, in manual mode, the fob will only unlock the passenger door.
Ah, now I see the source of confusion, you thought I meant the only way to unlock the pass door was to be in manual mode. SHould of clarified my 1st post....
Mine is as the others have stated too. I think the PKE is kinda cool when you can use it. But yes, manual mode is lacking in the functionality area. I usually forget about the fob if I have turned off the PKE system.
