Has anyone tried out the LED aftermarket tail lights? The ones on the new Cadillacs sure grab my attention. Just curious if they make a noticable difference on the Vette.
Ok, I'm glad someone else brought this up. I've seriously considered them (not going with the clear lenses, just the LED replacement bulbs). The way I figure it, the reduced electrical load on the system alone should justify it, right?
Oh, and the LED's on those Caddy's are friggin BRIGHT! :yesnod:
[EDIT] Hey Rome, what size tires do you have on that beast? Is that just an illusion or are those things like 335's? [EDIT]
I have a set of ledtronics LED lights in our 97 Camaro Z28. They look really cool from behind. The ledtronics fill up the whole lens, but most LED lights don't. Also, the ledtronics are a direct switch for the regular bulbs.
I have some for my truck sitting at home, but i havn't taken the time to switch out the flasher so i can use them.
I put 4 in my 88. 88's are the hard ones, no access from the outside. All bolts to remove have to be reached from inside, I went through the license plate hole, rough on the arms but saves removing entire backend. Anyway, they look great. Considerably brighter.
Nice :)
Ok, so, say I were to go out and order these...say, today. Where would I find them and what would the part numbers be? Anyone sell a kit for the 4 taillights and a flasher for the Vette?

I have the info at home, i'll get it for ya.
Not true man. LED's burn out individually, and that makes the rest of the light look like hell :reddevil I can give you some tech info on them though.
Most LED's have a lifetime warranty, and have an average life of 100,000 hours. They are as bright at 4 volts as they are at 12 versus an incandecsent bulb that takes a full 12 volts to reach max brightness, so they will greatly reduce the drag on your electrical system. They also react instantly from the low side to the high side. They do not however, radiate heat, so if you do any wintertime driving :auto: they WILL NOT melt ice and snow off themselves like conventional tail lights, so be prepared to be constantly cleaning them off. :nonod:
LOL I hear ya man, but buyer beware! Peterson Manufacturing has the best quality, and warranty there is. Another LED giant is Truklite. Both of these companies make their LED's in THIS country :flag Some of the other "no name" outfits offer a good warranty, but that usually lasts as long as it takes you to walk out the door. BTW.....I've had LED's go out on me almost immediately :mad Ya just never know
Holy jeeze, those Ledtronic LED's are expensive! Merv, do you have a source for those for less than $35 a piece???? Let's see, 4 tail lights and two parking lights adds up to $210 then throw in the new electronic flasher and shipping and it's pushing $250!
Guys, i used to work designing LED lights, so i know these LEDtronic ones are of top quality, made here in the USA.
There is a reason they cost so much. And, unfourtunatly, i don't have any place to get them cheaper.
