Steering Rack
OK I am going to fit aZ51 rack to the 86, the only make I can get in the uk seems to be
'A1 CARDONE' ?
Any one ever used this make or have any comments ?

Never used any of their products (yet!) but I did some investigating because I am about to replace the rack in my 84. CARDONE is about the biggest remanufacturer of automotive parts in the US. May be the biggest because I couldn't find anyone bigger into remanufacturing.
I figure they didn't gey to be that size by selling crap...?

Did mine three years ago with a Z51 rack I got thought my local ACME parts store. correct number of turns lock to lock, biggest problem I had was getting i back into the spot I took it out of. One of those laying on your back, looks easy and then trying to get it into the cradle etc was a little trying. When you take it out take note of exactl how you worm it out. I didn't take care enough note of that, and three days later when I got the rack I didn't really remember how I did it. After it's there, things went very well, be sure to purge all of the PS from the pump so you don't contaminate the new rack. good luck
