As part of a weight reduction program on my LT4 one of the radiator cooling fans might be eliminated. The AC has already gone so the heat load in traffic will be less. Anybody have experience with ths and any consequent overheating?
Ahhh, if this car is street driven, not a good idea.
The C4's cooling system leaves little margin for underperforming components. The fans are extremely important, especially in traffic when air flow across the radiator is extremely limited, even with A/C off. In traffic, around 80F, inoperative fan (either primary or secondary), you will see elevated temps, likely above 225F-235F.
my secondary fan failed. i don't know how long it was bad because it was in the winter. when summer came it did not take long to show it self. .... now last summer i put a 160 stat and a fan switch in(no program change). the fan switch is only for the primary fan and my engine temp never went over 215. so maybe you can delete the secondary if your willing to gamble.
Is this a joke or what
How come you don't give your age in your profile?????
Gosh I wonder why....???
Give me a break....Don't post anymore......grow up.....

^ what was that about?
anyways, I removed the complete A/C system off mine. Condensor in front of radiator and use a 160* thermo, plus much lower main fan turn on temp programmed into the computer. I did remove the aux fan that's closest to the front license plate. It weighed nothing.
Luckily here on California's central coast, I don't have high temps and even in Palmdale in heat haven't had dash temp gauge show anything over 215*.
