<GEEK> VORTECH OIL feed .. How does it actually work?
GEEK question here.
I am just curious how the oil gets up in the supercharger.
Does the supercharger create a vacuum by rotating that pulls oil from the feed line, which is usually hooked up to the oil temp sensor adapter/fitting?
Or is the pressure from the oil pressure pushing it up in the supercharger?
And the return line I guess is just a simple gravity-flowprocess.
Im intrested to know.. Also I read they have kits that do not use the car's oiling system, but a seperate small oil pump/reservoir just for the supercharger.

I would hope the SC is getting oil from the oil pressure in the engine. You should be tapping into a place of high oil pressure like the oil pressure sending unit which is where you oil pressure guage measures the oil pressure.

ATI instructions (probably the same with V-tech) have you add a "T" fitting located right on the oil filter so you get fresh filtered oil pumping to the charger and it drains the oil from gravity!

It uses oil pressure from the engine to feed the supercharger.
You have several options.
* An oil filter adapter
* A T on the oil temp sensor above the oil filter
* A T on the oil pressure sensor near the distributor
* The plug on the block above the timing chain cover

Ohh ok .. I was wondering if it was fed by the oil pressure created in the car.. Cool.. Looks like I'll be putting a 'T' fitting on the fuel temp sensor location. Easier to get to than the oil pressure sensor I think..
