Default wire for power antenna?

I want to be able to keep the antenna from going up while I am playing CD's... I have all aftermarket equipment.... so I need to make sure my amps still come on... I have the car all apart now, so would like to go ahead and put the toggle switch in .... Anyone know which wire it is to split???? I have a 1988....

thanks

I plan to do the same to mine. Its the pink wire on my Delco/Bose. Have you looked at the back of your stereo. They may have tagged the leads with the info your looking for. The relay is behind the middle piece of trim around the top of the cargo area. You could tie into the relay there if you can't trace it to your dash area. Good Luck!!

Your aftermarket stereo should have the wires labled and it'll will tell you in the owner's manual (of the stereo) which wire is the power antenna. I think it's blue (standard) but not sure. Just put an interupter switch inline. I used a small rocker switch and it's hidden in the pocket I installed under the HU. You can't even see it

The power antenna wire and remote turn on wire (turns on your amps) are two separate wires. The aftermarket harness will have each lead. Blue with white stripe for antenna and blue for remote turn on. The factory harness will have it pink but you shouldn't be cutting into your factory harness. You are using an aftermarket harness right? The antenna should only come up when the radio is on and go down when the CD is playing. You don't have to install an external switch to do it manually unless your stock harness has been chopped into. :skep:
