Anyone have any experience with these hubs? I can get them (both front and rear) at my local auto parts store for pretty cheap. They come with a one year warranty.
I should mention that Timken does not manufacture ball bearings, only roller and tapered roller bearings. So if they are being sold as "Timken" bearings, they must be outsourced to another bearing Mfr. and packaged as Timken.
(C4's are obviously ball bearing hubs. If they were rollers, they would last MUCH longer. If they were re-packable rollers, they would last dang near forever!)

If only the hubs were a serviceable part. There was a thread a while ago about trying to rebuild the hubs. Don't remember what the last word was on that process.
My brother works for Timkin, and last time he checked they made ball bearings ALL THE TIME. :D
If your brother told you Timkin makes ball bearings...What is HE smoking?
Last time I had to replace the "bicycle" bearing rear hubs on my car, I took an assembly apart to see if it couldn't be machined to take a tapered roller bearing. I couldn't find anything in the bearing spec book that could be stuffed into a modified housing. Hopfully, someone else has been more successful than I was?
