EST connector
I try to tune my timing with timing light. The timing light seems have no effect on timing. I wonder that I didn't correctly disconnect the EST connector (bypass the computer control). Could anyone tell me where is this EST connector located at in detail? If it is possible, post a picture would be excellent. I just don't want to make a mistake. I have an 87. My runs more at a higher idle/power, when I advance the timing(#BTDC). The engine runs rough, when I delay the timing (#ATDC) What happen if I advance too much? Is going to hurt my engine? Thanks

The connector is on the drivers side, near the back of the valve cover. Single wire that goes to the conector. Mine was fairly well hidden between other wires, the brake booster and the valve cover.
