Default Thermostat?

i have a 95 vette and i was wondering if i should get a 160 thermostat. I have heard different things about it. What are the gains or drawbacks. i heard it doesnt change anything because the computer is still going to be reading the stock temp. But i am not sure. What do yall think? ................................Another question is will SS wheels from a 1997 Camaro SS fit on my car? Thanks

If you are not going to reprogram your fans on/off, you might as well stick with the stock 180* stat.

I run a 160, no reprograming done. Definitly running cooler, much cooler after Fall install. During the winter here in Dallas temp gauge never climbed above 185. Now that spring is here seeing some temp increased at traffice stops, typicall of LT1's. Not seeing the gauge getting buried in heat as previous to the install.

Thanks for all the replies. What about the wheels? Will they fit on my car? I am not sure if the backspacing is the same. Thanks
