I don't think you'll ever see the 8HP gain like advertised but after a long day of drag racing or open track time you will AT LEAST not see a loss. I did mine with stuff laying around in the garage. Don't buy the kits.

In addition to the other "free mods" mentioned, on an L98 toss the "frisbee" from the front of the water pump pulley, cut back the spark plugs (on my site) and install a 160deg F stat & fan sw.

Hey Grump, thanks man. I did a TB bypass a while ago and was trying to figure out how to hide the pipes without the hoses. some kinda caps or whatever. now I'll just cut that crap away

Go to http://www.ws6.com this guy has interesting dyno results & shows a 6.3 hp improvement. Its on a 96 trans am. they are other good dyno graphs.
