OverDrive blows the fuse

OverDrive blows the fuse
On my 84 4+3 when I turn on the overdrive the light is dim and it blows the guage fuse. Has anyone had the solenoid go bad and cause this to happen. Or is it maybe something else?

Problem could be a dead short. There is a tool that you can buy that is a short circuit finder. A relay is put in for the fuse and a guage is used that you move around the car that will spike when you find the short.
