85 antenna upgrade problem
I foung one on ebay from a chevy dealer in chicago and it was for an 88 and newer but I figured it would work in mine but I don't see how it can how can I get the top to fit right :smash:
then I notice the ends to all the wires at the antenna are all bare no connectors to any of them even the antenna wire it's self :smash:
so I don't know what wires are what and I put an aftermarket stereo in last year and didn't bother with the power antenna because it didn;t work anyway so how can i get it to work and mount it
on the new antenna their is a white wire a green wire and a green and white wire (i think) and on my car I've got white and red
then I looked under the plate in the hatch and it looks like those wires where tampered with to HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:

Ground Strap
Antenna cable
On the power plug, there's one red wire and one green wire.
If you find the other matching end of this plug dangling up there, the wires should be the same color. It's a small 1/2" round plug with one female pin connector and one male pin connector.
That's about as much as I can help you... sorry.
(edit)
I heard that the company distributes parts through Pepboys. Company is Harada. Maybe they can give you a diagram to look at or something, or the '85 antenna. Model: MX-22

These are:
Brown
Yellow
White
EUREKA! I found the link to the dirt cheap exact factory antenna. From the picture, it looks like it comes with everything except the big upper antenna nut and bezel.
Here's the link:
HARADA MX-22
I have never purchased from this site, so I can't vouch for them, but the price in Ecklers is like three times as much, so its worth a shot. :skep: You can probably sell your 88 antenna for what you paid on the forum.
