Default TPI settings

I removed the Throttle body from my 86 to clean it and install a new IAC valve, I got it all together and it started right up. But the idel was erratic between 9 and 13, I went under the hood with it running and I touched the TPI connector to see it it was loose or not the connector was ok but the TPI moved the two screws that hold it were loose, as I moved it the ideal went up and down,my question is how do you set it, do you need special tools or a meter ?

You typed TPI, but I think you mean TPS. Look in the tech tips section, and you'll be all set. Also, a factory manual could come in handy in the future! :seeya

You need to first set base idle with the IAC pintel fully extended and then set the TPS base voltage value.

My method is on my site; it requires the use of a DMM to measure voltage at the TPS.
