Default Made for you Looms?

Anybody install the Made For You plug wire looms on your LT-1? What wires did you use? Where the stock lengths okay or did you have to make your own wires? Seems like I'm the only one with this problem

Strick

Sorry Strick, I've got an L98. The "Made For you" Looms are great. Got one side on,so far working on the drivers side right now. Bought STOCK red Taylor Spiral pros here on the forum got the looms from Summit. Made sure the nuts are stuck good in the looms, I lost one and couldn't find it , bought another nut and glued it in.

PS do a search.

What size wires are you using 8mm or bigger?

I have them on my IROC along with MSD 8.5mm SuperConductor wires from Summit. The looms required a little machining to fit the wires but work vey well.

On the Vette I run TPIS 8.0mm wires with stock looms.

When you say machining, do you mean you drilled/reamed them to fit?

I noticed that Made for You looms come in 7-8mm and 10.5mm. Which size did you use?

One more thing, did you get the style that bolts to the side of the head or on top of the valve cover?

There just isn't enough room for these wires to fit in the stock clips even if it were reamed out. Hind sight seems to be stay with stock size wires.

Here's a pic of them on my car. They fit perfectly and really clean up the routing of the wires.

Thanks for the pic. This is why I want them on my LT-1, they look great. BTW, your engine looks like I want mine to look--clean and organized. BUT, I can't get the answer to the question,"Will the stock length wires be long enough for these looms on the LT-1?"

Thanks again :banghead: :banghead:

:hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

I just got an e-mail direct from Made For You Products by a guy named Ross. He says my MSD 8.5mm wires will work with their (50-756) verticle looms, length and thickness. I order tomorrow am!

I've been looking for this answer all week. I'm excited! :hurray: :hurray:

Hopefully I'll have pics when I'm done. Thanks for all the replies

Happy Strick :hurray: :flag :hurray: :flag

They will work as long as you aren't running headers on the LT-1. If you are..... let me know what you come up with as I've been beating my head against a wall on this one.

Well, I've got The Hooker Shorties and it appears they should work better than the factory set up. I'm concerned about the AIR pipe on the pass side, go under or over? Are you using the verticle loom set attaches to the head, or the ones that attach to the valve cover bolts?
Now I have to find who sells them. Just found them from Thunder Racing, a little expensive @ $61.89! :bb
