exhaust manifold ( so you can tilt the engine )
balancer
timing cover
radiator
A/C
c-beam (so you can tilt the engine)
air pump
all the hoses and poopie that is infront of the engine
intake plenum and base ( so you can take out the lifters etc )
You have to tilt the engine to be abel to get the hole cam out, i hade to unmount the power steering hoses to get the balancer pulley in place.
I found out that you have to take off so much from the engine that its really more easy to just lift the damn thing, makes the job alot more easy.
the c-beam is the tranny support under the car. It goes from the tranny to the dana diff. Not to hard to get off, you must pull the exhaust for this.
Then you slide the c-beam of the dana and the tranny.
I didn't have to tilt the engine to get mine out...you just have to get everything in front out of the way...or more specifically, the radiator and A/C condenser. You can even leave the clamshell on!
I do not remove my torque arm (C-beam) when I lift mine. You only have to raise one side about 1-2". I use a engine hoist and unbolt one motor mount from underneath and lift it as far as I can without anything hitting.
I'm amazed you guys were able to get the balancer off by just raising the front 2 inches. Man. We decided to pull the motor up a foot or so since we replaced the converter as well (92).

Getting the balancer off is not the problem. You should be able to get that off without moving the motor at all. The problem is that the Cam will hit the front frame crossover when you pull it out from the front. You raise it just a hair to clear the frame rail.
I did it yestaerday on my 95. You only have to raise the engine about 1" to clear the front beam. Good luck! Purpc4 has a great write up. Search for it. BH

Yeah, I know, just completed the job this week. In the 92, man, there is zero room in front of the balancer to get it off though.
