How do the wheel bearings get maintenanced on a 96 LT4? J55 brakes. I didnt see anyway of getting to the bearings to repack them. I also was wondering how the brake pads are supposed to come out of the caliper. Do you just use a screwdriver and pry them out, I notice clips holding them in, dont want to wreck anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

For the bearings you have to replace the whole assembly, you can't service them otherwise. For the brakes, the pads just come out of the calipers after you have taken the caliper out of the mounting braket.. A screw driver will be fine to pop them out. You will see that they just snap into the calipers when you get them out
The brakes on the corvette are relativly easy to deal with. :D
Bearings are replaced as a unit, fronts ones are easy to do, rear ones can be challenging. Cost, these are approximate, Rear ones $125, Front ones with insert $175
Brake pads, theres a pin with a circ-clip that needs to be removed. Then the pads should pop out of each side of the caliper, might need something to pry them a little to get them started.
Thanks! :D I thought they looked pretty permanent in there! Im glad I dont have to mess with that. I bought some Simple Green and im gonna use a green scrubby and a wire brush on my drill if needed to clean her up before I put it all back together! Its so nice outside too! I wish I could have been driving! Thanks for all the help, you guys are the best as always!
