Amsoil claims their air filters provide more filtering of contaminates, while giving greater air flow. Is this true and does anyone know what micron level these filters filter out?
Don't know if its true, but Amsoil always says their product is better than anything else. If I was buying a new air filter again I would buy one of the Accel Kool Blue's. Reusable, and they claim to be able to backup test results showing filtration down to about 20 micron diameter contaminants.
there's no spec with that claim, no efficiency level, nothing. hell, my nose hairs can filter particles "as small as 2.8 microns." not too many of them, and it might even pass a few 3000 micron particles, but it will stop some 2.8 micron ones!
not to say the accel (or any other filter) is bad. just that none of the advertising ever tells you anything real.
i saw a semi-scientific test some guy with a miata did, comparing filters. amsoil and k&n filters both passed more dirt than paper filters.
