My primary cooling fan has seens its last day, however, I have learned that the 85 primary fan is no longer available. Thus, I now need to go aftermarket.
Does anybody know how much air the primary fan pulls ? I assume somewhere around 2000 cfm, but dunno.

How many cfm for the stock fan...that's a million dollar question!
I looked high and low for that answer and never found it! I ended up going with dual 11 inch spal fans in the spal housing-not cheap by any means, but it does pull the temp down now. If anyone has found the stock fan cfm answer, please share!
BTW-The spal fans with housing does need some "customizing", but will fit nicely.
Is this the motor you talking about? Was it G.M. that discontinued it? I bought an non G.M. motor from a parts store for my 86. Buy the looks of it and the instructions i think it fits various other cars. Check into it some more before you spend more money on a complete replacement. Good Luck!!
I am staying away from the replacement that Kragen tried to sell me, its rated at 1200 cfm, which is what is recommended for a 150 hp 4 cylinder motor.
Think I will try one of the units from Summit that pull 2950 cfm.... not sure how I'm going to make it fit, but that should be boost in cooling I would think.
