Cat. converter removal

I have a 92 LT1 and I want to take my catalytic converters off. I have flowmasters on it right now, but I wanna know if its gonna make it any louder, or if it will help performance wise. If anyone has done this could you please let me know what you think. Thanks

I am not a fan of cat removal.

They don't take enough power from the engine to justify the emission increase.

besides, it will get REAL loud...

I just had mine replaced with Random Tech's new Metalic bullet cats (not cheap), but the size of the stock converter was enormous. Each one must weigh 20 pounds! As for enhanced performance, you will have a considerable increase in exhaust flow over stock. In my case I had to retain emmisions compliance, so I went with a high flow cat, its your call. :chevy
