Default valve spring question

just installed an Lt4 cam in 94 lt1 car. Car runs quicker and want to install the 1.6 rockers. Will my stock Lt1 valve springs work or are new ones necessary? Appreciate any input.

I think you need to upgrade the springs, I would.

If I were you...I would have changed the valve components while I had the engine down....
Just my thoughts...

Since you have installed the Hotcam you need to replace the valve springs due to the added lift of the cam and the narrow tolerance of the stock LT1 springs to coil bind. If you were just going to add the 1.6RR with your stock cam you might get by ok. I have installed 1.6RR on my 95 LT1 w/o changing the springs, but when I change my cam new springs will be going on. Hope this helps, many more are sure to chime-in. :chevy
