I am looking to put the Lt4 hot cam in my 93 6speed. What else should I install with it other than the 1.6 roller rockers. I plan on also getting a K&N filter and a open lid.
Also where is a good place to pick up the cam and roller rockers..... One more question how much did you guys pay to have the cam swap done.....
Ok every time I try to click on the link it always says link not found for the full Cam kit. Is there any where else to go to get it? Is the hotcam a GM product? One more thing what does everyone think of the Lingenfelter cam?? One final note where is a good all around place to get LT1 Y body parts every place I have been to has nothing and if they do have anything its just a AFPR.
With the '93 you might have some initial idle problems until you get the computer tuned or play with the throttle. The speed density computers aren't too happy with the decreased idle vacuum, but this can be fixed. My mechanic played with the minimum idle speed adjustment (Chilton's says not to tamper with it, but an experienced engine build/mechanic might be able to get away with it). This has helped me some, but when I turn the A/C on the IAC over ranges (opens all the way) and still cannot compensate for the increased load. I am going to drill a small (start with 1/16") hole in one of the throttle plates. This is a trick that the C5 guys do, and I have been talking to a very experienced engine builder and forum member about doing this. He currently has a 1/8" hole in his throttle plate for his cam.
This will increase idle airflow and allow the IAC to operate in it normal range so the computer can hold idle.
You should still do the cam. Next you should get some long tube headers and have the head and intake worked over.
