Ive been reading the pro charger web page and it seeems you get much more hp with the intercooler. they have a few different types of chargers, i would want to get one that doesnt need me to replace the tranny or anything else after a few runs.

the bottom line is; you make more power with the intercooler- but you are also safer with it too. Hot compressed air will detonate easier than cool air, that is what an intercooler does- cool the air. Detonation in your engine=destruction. If your worried about parts failure, keep the boost low and use the intercooler, you can always step up the boost later should you desire- but its not cheap to buy (or buy back the one you sold) an intercooler. I believe my twin intercoolers are almost $1000 at an online retailer !

Well the thing is as I am sure allot of people on this forum will tell you is....tuning is a pain...? But when you get it tuned she is turns into a beast! As for the tranny you should be fine because it is not like nitrous where you add 100 hp in a milli second you make boost on your rpm range. But they say the reason you get more power with an intercooler is because you keep the temp down of the air (less detonation)...but at the same time you lose pressure! But allot of guys I know run allot of boost because after the intercooler you will not get the exact # of boost as if you didn’t have an intercooler? Hope that made sense? But I love mine and I love the way it sounds but I asked for the loud blower and trust me you can hear my car when it passes by in the other lane coming at you in traffic! But to be honest I love my blower and if you go with Carroll (vortech) or procharger either is a good blower and they both have their advantages!

Good luck!
