Default LT4 weight?

Where does the 215lbs extra come from in the motor. Roller rockers and roller timing chain do not add up to 215lbs. You would think all LT4 cars would have different springs to support the extra weight over the LT1.

:skep: There may be a little difference, but certainly NOT 215lbs worth. Even the aluminum block LS1 motor doesn't weigh that much less than the LT motors

I agree, mine weighed 3270 lbs with 1/2 tank of gas. It does have the Spare Tire Delete...

That is surely a typographical error. The Corvette Specs book has copies of some GM documentation with the same kind of deal. They accidentally used the LT5 weight for the LT4 (making it 100+ lbs overweight).

Thanks a lot GM, for being so sloppy! :cuss

:iagree: We've hashed this out in the past, it's a typo, the LT4 weighs the same as the LT1.
