I'm set to install a Dr. X Pipe on my LT4 next week. I'd love some input from anyone running any X pipe replacement of a resonator on a late C4. Specifically, did the exhaust noise level increase ... and did it make a noticable performance difference? Thanks.

I can't personally speak for a C-4, but you definielty md the correct choice with the DR.GAS version, the others are just IMITATORS...PERIOD!!!!! You will notice an improvement in throttle response, and depending on the rest of your system, you will notice better mid-range torque, and upper RPM's. The exhaust note will be changed significantly, which is a PLUS :D. I run a DR. GAS 3" X-PIPE assembly on my 88 Monte SS, with 1-3/4" LTH's, and FLOWMASTER 3" 43053 MUFFLERS, and it is SIMPLY AWESOME. :flag :flag  HTH's
I have a Dr Gas 3" X-pipe installed in place of the resonator on my B&B 3" exhaust. It raised the exhaust pitch & eliminated a small amount of resonance, but not much.
I can't give you any before & after HP numbers as I changed too many pieces at once when I did the swap. There were some good back to back dyno comparisons last winter/fall in the ZR1 section. Do a search using "Dr Gas" as the keywords, and then look for the thread in the ZR1 section.
Drop that resignator, it is about 40lbs of boat anchor. I installed the B&B X-pipe when I had my TPIS headers installed, and have muffler eliminators. Mine is a bit loud for some, but music to my deaf ears. If you are running any type of muffler you should be fine. As for perf. gains, I can not say because I installed to many other things when I did the X-pipe. :chevy
