Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (chucks88)
JD,
Thanks for posting the photo, it looks a little cleaner now without all that junk hanging off the engine & firewall.
BTW, heard from my fabricator, car will go in for the rear this week :hurray:.
Caboboy, did you also flow the heads without the SR? If so, what were the figures with & without the SR?

Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (Charles A. Foster)
Before I bought mine I saw something in GM High Tech Performance magazine about their getting a warped lid for one of their project cars. I asked my vendor about this before I put my money down and was told a faulty batch went out but the problem was since rectified and all lids are checked now before they go out. I was lucky enough to deal with someone who went so far as to check my own SR out to make sure all was well before he mailed it all the way over to me for my peace of mind. I had no problems with distributor fit (I am running the stock HEI).
I will say the holes between the box and runners didn't line up when I installed it and the supplied lower gaskets were pretty crummy with a poor fit - I am about to pull the box and runners off in an attempt to find my relatively new vacuum leak - I suspect it is one of those poor fitting gaskets...
Nevertheless, I am still happy with my purchase. :grouphug:
Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (chucks88)
Count me in. Questions...
1. How many different ways has everyone routed their injector wiring? Inside or outside the runners? mine is on the outside but I think I want to reroute in a less visible way.
2. How many ways and what did you use to route the passanger vent to the throttle body? Mine was pulling a lot of oil in. Any others having that issue?

I have done it both ways.

Mine is still stock, I dont really have any oil in that tube.
Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (bill mcdonald)
I seperated my injector wires from the rest of the wiring harness that runs along the valve covers. My injector wires are now running behind the runners with the rest of the wiring harness still running along the valve covers.
After reading posts of oil getting sucked into the runners from the plenum via the passenger breather tube, I replaced mine with a breather cap.
Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (chucks88)
Cabo,
Got your link, very interesting results thanks alot, also IM'd you back.
My injector wires are routed outside now, may move them inboard, can all the harness go inside without removing the plenum?
I had the problem of pulling oil into plenum causing knocks, plugged the TB and put a K&N style breather in the VC, may do the same with the PCV and add another breather, thoughts? Over on the C5 side they're having the same problem with the PCV but they add an inline oil filter, maybe that's a fix.

Scratch that. A bolt somehow backed itself out one of the runner to box holes - there's my vacuum leak.
Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (X-FireChance)
I just bought a Super Ram, now all that I need is for the war to end so that I can get home and install it. Will my adjustable fuel pressure regulator still work with the set up?
Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (eguyett1985)
What kind of gain can I expect from this plenum? Is it noticeable? I haven't done any head work or cam, but I have a lot of bolt ons. I'm thinking about putting on heads and cam with the Super Ram, but what will it do on a mostly stock L-98?

Re: SuperRam 'Vettes............Check in (1990z)
In my opinion it is hard to get quantitative numbers on a SR actually helping a stock L98.
Another forum member once mentioned that one could pick up over half a second with just a SuperRam and cat back exhaust on a stock L98. I have not been able to duplicate that myself.
The recent mods/changes I have made to my car have made it very hard to use my before and after numbers as a valid comparison between the SR plenum and stock runners.
In my opinion, after my experiment/experience bolting an SR onto a basically stock L98 I would strongly suggest doing heads, cam and exhaust while you are at it if it is in the budget to get the most out of the SR. Don't expect much of a gain otherwise.
edit: 1990z, this thread may be of interest to you if your mods are similar to mine. Mind you I think I have the slowest times in the whole thread. :banghead: :nopity http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...&id=1543643352
