When going down the road at highway speed the car should run cooler with the 160, but at idle or in very slow stop & go the temperature is going to be determined by the fan settings.
I was just thinking that when you put the A/C on, the fan comes on regardless of coolant temp. So if you put the A/C on, the coolant should stay at reduced temperature without reprogramming????
LT4BUD, you are absolutely right!! I have done this now for a couple of years since I put the 160 t-stat in......when it gets warm enough, I just turn the HVAC control to a setting with a/c and the fans run and keep my vette right around 180F even in city traffic and 90F ambient temps....on the highway the temps are at 173F when ambient temps are below 50F, 177 when ambient is 50 to 70 F and 180 when ambuent is over 75 to 80F, even when ambient temp is over 90F
