I am considering buying a used B & B system for my LT-4 and just wanted to find out how loud they really are. I have heard them on the C5, but not a C4. Do they sound good and throaty?
I just installed a B&B system on my LT1 and it does sound good. At low rpms you do hear a drone. Otherwise it sounds real good. I'm told that a resonator or x-pipe will cure the drone.
The look is nice too !

I have the 3" system and it has a nice throaty sound. It even seems to get louder after an extended freeway cruise. There is resonance around 1200-1600 RPM and it does get annoying at times. At speeds above 65, the resonance pretty much goes away.
I remember seeing a old thread that mentioned that B&B had some sort of X-pipe available that replaced the center resonator. I think it was around $250 or so. I think one reason that B&B went to the smaller 2 3/4" system was to cut down on the resonance.
I have the 3" B&B system w/ shorty headers. They sound great to me. There was heavy resonance at 1600 to 2000rpm while cruisin as mentioned. I fixed the resonance by changing the rear gears to 4.11s. This moves the rpm out of the resonance range while cruising. So by selecting the proper transmission gear along with the 4.11s they work great. Look great too. :)
