The wiper blades on my 86 come over the outer edge of the windshield when operating and have caused the black trim piant to wear away. Is it normal for the blade to cross over the outer edge of the windshield? Is there an adjustment I can make to the wiper arm to adjust for this? Any help appreciated!
Try the "search" feature in the left column. Enter "windshield wipers", then "archives". There should be many helpful hints. Also, you might try C4 Tech Tips under "Tools" on the menu bar.
in the tech tips, you will find an article on the wiper arms, replace the arms with those from a 90+ ( they have a slight bend to them) this will help to prevent the left side arm/blade assy from over running the edge of the windshield. did the mod on mine right after i bought it, and have had no problems since.
Here is a good link to adjusting the wipers. http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2000...erbladepg1.asp You might also consider swapping to the 96 wiper arms/blades as they are designed a little better. If you do a search on this you'll find the thread where guys talk about why the 96 arms/blades are better.

Re: Windshield Wiper Problem (pwrful c4)
You can try adjusting the linkage at the motor.. but its better for them to go to far then to collide. The mechanism wears which alllows more slop, so new style arms might not help if they're the same length. A shorter blade on that arm should cure the problem though.
