Open Air Filter lid?
I have heard talk about an open/ cut air filter lid as a performance mod......it may sound a little weak, but I don't understand this just by looking at my K&N aifilter.
1. how do you do this?
2. what performance gain do you get?

Your performance gain isn't going to be much, but every little bit helps. Just take your air cleaner and cut the front off of it. Leave enough to hold the air filter in place. I just used one of the bends as a straight edge and cut the rectangle out.

If you look at the stock air filter cover, it's mostly covered, when you open the cover up you cut away most of the area to alow more air through the filter, their is a slight hp gain. Hope this helps......... :cheers:

All you have to do is cut a big square hole in the air lid, so that the K&N is exposed.
We have proven gains on the L98, LT1 is a bit iffy, but it cant hurt anything.
