i would like to put headers on my 96 manual lt4!! i saw in one of the covette catalogs ( mid america or ecklers ) that lingenfelter makes a set!! i also saw that tpis also makes a set but it says they are for race only ! will these work on an every day driver and which ones would be the best !!!
Hi, I called TPIS on this one also, because on their webpage they advertise their C4 headers for the LT1/4 as for race only. The TPIS reps reply was that is how they have to advertise them ( Probably because the Republic of Kalifornia's emmisions laws), but they do have the air hook-ups and O2 bungs. I can't say for other brands, but the TPIS longtubes hooked up nicely to my existing air system and with extensions, my stock O2 sensors fit the pre-drilled bungs great. TPIS headers were a little more $ than the others, but I have been impressed w/ the quality workmanship and engineering of these headers. :chevy
It all depends on if you want to retain any emissions equipment or not. I dont' have to pass an emissions check around here so I went with a set of Hooker 2151's which fit very nicely. I've been extrememly pleased with them, the best bang for the buck mod I've done.
