I was wondering if anyone had any idea as what I should expect from mysolid roller 396.My combination ;bbk58mmtb,tpis miniram ported byARE,AFR195s ported&matched to miniram by ARE ,CC solid roller 230/236@.050 .583/.587 after lash is set on a 114lsa,crane gold 1.6rr,compression is9:1(it's built for boost)meziere electric water pump.I also have a D1 Procharger w/dual intercoolers, I plan to install after the break in miles .I plan to run between 12to13 lbs ofboost ,I've already contacted someone to make me a 8rib pulley set. What would be the estimated rwhp on motor, and on boost my car is a 90 A/4.TIA
Re: Estimated rwhp for solid roller 396? (GREENREAPER90)
i'm going to pick on you, but it's not personal, and it's without malintent.
this is a generally flawed approach to building an engine. you should first set your requirements, then research what it takes to meet those requirements. what were you looking for in numbers? durability? streetability?
also, final boost numbers are relatively meaningless. to answer the question, one would need a very good overall feel for how much flow equates to 12psi through your heads/cam/intake/cid combination.
pre-blower, i'd say you're looking at 360rwhp. however, this is also partly based on my conception of ARE's work, not just the hard parts you mention.

Thanks MSR for your response to my post ,but I purchased my D1 before I had the engine built . I disscussed with Wade at ARE as to what my goals were which is 550-600 rwhp, thats on boost of course.I was just curios as to what I would have to play with until I've put enought miles on it to add the blower.
