Default [intake] Is this smart or dumb???

I guess it would flow more air but it will also suck the hot air from the radiator.

Do you want an honest answer or do you want me to lie? With that heat I hope you have the throttle body bypassed.

Actually, I was thinking of doing the same thing only putting a small NACCA duct in the hood in front of the cone. I wouldn't do it without getting cold air to the motor. You wouldn't believe how much heat is coming from the radiator and the other parts of the engine and hot air is not as dense as cold air thus limiting power.

FWIW,

BIG JIM

Just take it down to the bottom of the car to get cold air.

but back to topic- in that car, it woulde probably be a good idea to run the air cleaner over to the wheel well (in this case, the driver's side looks roomy). That's probably the best compromise. However, in a vette... improvise.

I had a buddy who ran a K&N on his 90 just like as pictured. Who knows if it gained anything, but it sure did pick up a lot of dirt, I asume from the belt.

Yeah, K&N has a filter just for that, but it cant be a mass air car, has to be SD

I dont know what this means, but I will type anyway.

the 90 is SD and it had the filter right on the throttle body. My bad on the "as pictured part"
