Default Custom Stealthram plenum picture

I got the custom plenum that I bought from grumpyvette mounted on the Holley Stealthram base, and the throttle body on it. Here's a pic:
http://www.diabolicalperformance.com/blankforphotos.htm

It looks good. It looks like it will flow a lot! :conehead

Is there enough room for the IAC and waterneck? From the looks of it there is a major clearance issue.

Nice looking intake. Look forward to seeing results.
Whats the intake runner length of it?

Blown: I think its the illusion. Figure the water thing is same distance away as the injector bungs are from the plenum, just looks like its alot closer.

"Is there enough room for the IAC and waterneck?"

theres no problem with clearance of the IAC, and the instructions that come with the plenum show you the options for the waterneck.
BTW it is an optical illusion theres plenty of room for several available water necks WITH OR WITHOUT THE WATER MANIFOLD MODS, and if you do the suggested water manifold bypass mod almost all the standard water necks fit just fine.
and since just the water bypass mods worth about 5+ extra hp youll be ahead to follow the included installation dirrections http://www.ws6.com/mod-8.htm

So I'm a little late to the game, how does it comparte to the miniram and Superram intakes?

If they'd had this two years ago (and 5 Superram R&R's ago) I'd a seriously considered it!

(Now I have a little 1/4" 12-pt wratched wrench that makes it a little easier.)

the stock stealth ram potentially flows about 40-50cfm more air per intake runner than the stock superram, and it has longer runners that can potentially, if matched to the correct cam build torque earlier in the rpm range than a mini ram which has shorter runners, the idea here is to have a low restriction tunnel ram style EFI style intake that still retains the longer runners that retain the ram tunning effect

the small base remote coil HEI or similar distributor is required, theres thousands of trucks in salvage yards with them, I picked one up for $20 but I wanted a better built distributor so I upgraded to a small base computer compatible HOLLEY distributor so you can upgrade LIKE I DID also
a HOLLEY #890-160 http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...D/890-xxx.html

I see, I checked and the manifold I am using has the water neck centered and that would be a problem but this manifold the waterneck is on the side.

Also I would not consider the plenum in the first post for a few reasons. The plenum in these photos has more potential in my opinion. I am not a fan of the milled bowtie but other than that it would be my choice.

:iagree:

I like the fact that the mounting bolt to the base does not cause an obstruction of air flow inside the plenum. I would however like to see the vacuum fittings on the side like the other one. I would also like to see both of these have a notched rear so a factory distributor would work. Having to buy a new distributor 'almost' makes this option not worth while. I understand you can buy a cheapo $20 distributor, but if you are going to spend the money on a new setup, why would you skimp on the distributor???

(1) the runners on the base NOT the plenum is what prevents the larger HEI distributor
(2) the bolts going thu the plenum are smaller in dia. than the holley plenum and have no measurable effect on the airflow into the ports (I TRIED IT BOTH WAYS DURING TESTING)BUT AN INTERNALLY BOLTED PLENUM HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR A MOUNTING BOLT WORKING LOOSE AND DROPPING DOWN AN INTAKE PORT! , USEING BOLTS THAT ARE AIRCRAFT WIRED TOGETHER TO PREVENT THAT PLACES THE WIRES DIRECTLY BETWEEN PORTS AND THAT DOES ALTER FLOW SLIGHTLY)

Can you hook up the EGR to the Stealth Ram? I don't see any mounting boss. If so, I would assume all the emissions have to be disabled to use the Stealth Ram?

How much $$ for the custom plenum?

EGR compatibility-Corvette guys always want it all, don't they? :yesnod:
