Default Hi Performance Radiators !

I need to replace my radiator soon and was wondering if anyone out there has installed a "two row" radiator, or any other radiator other then stock. If so how does it cool your engine? Will it fit the stock radiator brackets or does it need modification, how was installation? Finally cost !
Thanks in advance.....

I installed a BE COOL radiator, from Jegs, about $400.
It was very easy to install, just mod the lower plastic
mount. Very good addition for me because my wife and I race the
car. The car never gets hotter than 205, even in HOT weather.
Cool down is also much faster.

I've got a Ron Davis radiator in both of my vettes. I had one in the race car from the start and have never overheated on the track. As far as the street car, on hot days (95+) if I stopped moving it would go to 260 and I would have to shut it down and watch it boil over for 15 minutes. When I tried everything else (booster fan, thermostat, water wetter, cleaning the space between the radiatir and condenser) I finally figured if it worked for the race car it would probably work for the street. I put a Ron Davis in the street car, and that was the last of my overheating problems. The only modification was trimming around the filler neck for a little more radiator cap clearance. Once you see how small the stock radiator is compared to a good aftermarket one you won't be that surprised at what a difference it makes. The stock radiator really isn't very big. The Z51 booster fan would be a good addition, too it seems to really help get more air through the radiator, especially when idling in traffic.

How much did you pay for your Ron Davis? Did you get the trans coolers put in?
I am (depending on how my stock radiator holds to the cooling job) thinking about getting an extra wide one, since I have no AC condensor up there anymore. With trans cooler and possibly powersteering cooler put in, take away some width, but the extra thickness should counter. Also going to get AN fittings on it :D so I can run SS lines (CSI waterpump has an adapter, and the waterneck is easy enough to find in AN).

Thoughts?

I have a custom made Griffen in mine. Kind of $$$, $750. But it sure works great. I have a A/T and the extra size cooler for that works just great also.
Temp runs around 183 to 192 degrees. A 160 Degree thero also. I also use a custom Ed Wright chip.
A bit of moding on the lower and upper cover and rubber holding pieces, but not all that bad.

Where do you get the best price on a Griffin radiator?

Where do you get the best price on a Ron Davis radiator?

Thanks

What was the Be Cool radiator stock number that you got from Jegs ? Is this a double row radiator, how much larger then stock is it??

Thanks

Ive had great results with Ron Davis. Lowered my temp 20 degrees with there rad and a cooling fan mod. One more thing there quality is 10 times better than of other manufactures and I should know I was in the business.

Jegs part # 134-60046 for a manual trans. The radiator is about
twice as thick as the stock radiator. My temps dropped at least
20 degrees on the race track.

I invested in a Griffin model for my LT4. Bought from forum supporter-Dewitts for $500. I got the largest model they offer. It is huge.

I did have to trim the shroud a bit as well as the grommets and the fan shroud. Nothing a Dremel couldn't take care of and I hate cutting my car-I didn't think it was a big deal.

Runs significantly cooler-170 around town and <210 on the track where I was hitting 225 with 300 degree oil temps on stock radiator.

Good investment.

:)
