What years differential will fit?

What years differential will fit?
I'm looking at several complete differentials and remember a post about earlier mounting holes being too small to fit a later model car. Can someone tell me what years will fit my 1988 Dana36 car and what years won't?

Jim they will all fit. What they are talking about is the bolt holes that hold the strut rod brackets in. They are only a couple of thousands different between the 88-up and the 84-87. If you have a rear out of a 84-87 you can run a 3/8 drill bit through the hole to clean it up, it will barely remove any material and that will allow you to slid the larger bolts through.
