Default RTV second try...

..first try
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=540237

We took of the intake base and cleand the gasget from the RTV.
This time we only put A thin layer on each side of the gasket. But when we tighten the bolts a bit of RTV squeezed out annyway??? :cry

Not half as much as before, but annyway...

IS that ok??

im more worried about the RTV that squeezes out on the "other side" in to the water holes in the heads..
Or if som of the black RTV that I used on the short ends squeezes out into the engine??

It is ok if some off the RTV squeezed out, MarkLT1 is right just wipe it clean before it dryes because it is harder to clean when it dryes.

You dont have to worrie about it getting into the water because it is going to be dry before you put in the water.

RTV is really tuff and it looks like you did not put that much yes you can see something come out but not that much.
I would say if no RTV squeezed out then I think you put to little and it may leak later, but if you dont like it then you dont have to use RTV.
